We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our growing customer base across Japan. In this role, you will be the technical expert on-site, ensuring our systems operate at peak performance while building strong relationships with customers and delivering outstanding service. **Job Description** What You'll Do As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of TOMRA sorting systems across Japan. Your key responsibilities will include: • Commissioning, testing, integration, and start-up of TOMRA sorting equipment • Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and technical upgrades • Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues • Providing on-site and remote technical support to customers • Optimizing machine performance and maximizing equipment uptime • Delivering customer training for operators and maintenance teams • Preparing detailed service reports and technical documentation • Supporting Sales and Project Management teams with technical expertise • Participating in on-call support activities when required • Sharing field feedback and improvement opportunities with internal teams **Qualifications** What We're Looking For Experience & Qualifications • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering • Experience in Field Service, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Commissioning, or similar technical environments • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and manage technical issues in the field • Experience working directly with customers in industrial environments Skills & Competencies • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset • Excellent analytical and diagnostic abilities • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure • Strong organizational and reporting skills • Comfortable working in multicultural and international environments Language Requirements • Japanese: Business-level proficiency • English: Professional working proficiency Additional Requirements • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Japan • Ability to travel internationally on occasion when required • Valid driver's license **Additional Information** Why Join TOMRA?
