Applicants can expect a mission-driven environment focused on integrity, respect, and community trust.Role Description The Investigator is a full-time, remote role responsible for conducting detailed investigations into assigned cases, such as fraud, cybercrime, and other incidents that can be effectively managed through digital tools and virtual collaboration. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing reports, gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses and involved parties via secure remote communication platforms, and preparing clear, accurate investigative summaries. The Investigator will coordinate with sworn officers, other investigators, and partner agencies to share information, develop case strategies, and support enforcement actions. This role also involves maintaining thorough documentation, adhering to legal and departmental standards, and using investigative software and databases to track case progress. The Investigator is expected to manage a caseload independently while meeting timelines, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to continuous improvement of investigative practices.Qualifications Demonstrated investigative skills, including evidence collection, case analysis, and report writing.Strong research and critical thinking abilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.Proficiency with digital tools, case management systems, and secure remote communication platforms.Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interview witnesses and prepare clear documentation.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines.Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and investigative procedures; experience in law enforcement or related fields is beneficial.Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and respectful, unbiased interactions with diverse communities.Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, law, or a related discipline preferred.
