About The Role Resiliency Engineering at Vanguard is a pivotal function dedicated to enhancing the reliability, recoverability, and resilience of critical business services. As part of the Resiliency Engineering Team, you will play a key role in designing and developing enterprise-scale software solutions that transition operations from reactive to predictive and autonomous resiliency. Your work will directly impact Vanguard’s ability to maintain high service levels, minimize downtime, and proactively address potential disruptions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge initiatives, including expanding Pulse synthetic monitoring capabilities, developing enterprise resiliency intelligence services, and exploring AI-powered solutions that transform enterprise resiliency measurement and management. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in software development or engineering roles. An undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in designing and developing cloud-native applications, APIs, and automation workflows. Familiarity with distributed systems, observability, resiliency concepts, and enterprise platform engineering is highly desirable. The ability to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior engineers is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement advanced enterprise-scale software solutions that enhance system resiliency and operational efficiency.Create cloud-native services, APIs, and integrations using modern architectures such as event-driven and microservices.Lead technical design discussions, contribute to platform architecture decisions, and ensure scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.Partner with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product owners, and other engineering teams to address enterprise resiliency challenges.Develop reusable frameworks and automation tools to improve resiliency outcomes and operational consistency.Innovate by developing AI-enabled capabilities, agents, and skills that reduce operational toil and enhance decision-making processes.Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, testing, and production support activities.Participate in observability, reliability, and performance initiatives to uphold operational excellence standards.Contribute to special projects and continuously seek opportunities for technological advancement and process improvement.
