Job Description Summary The Junior Data Engineer supports the development, maintenance, and optimization of data solutions that enable business intelligence, reporting, and analytics across the organization. This role works closely with senior data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to help build and support data pipelines, improve data quality, and ensure reliable access to data. The ideal candidate is eager to learn modern cloud-based data technologies and contribute to the organization's data and analytics initiatives. All work must comply with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and industry standards. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of data pipelines and data integration processes. Support the collection, transformation, and loading of data from various source systems. Perform data profiling and basic source system analysis to identify data quality issues and improvement opportunities. Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and data transformation logic. Help validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues and production support requests. Assist in creating and maintaining source-to-target mapping documentation and technical specifications. Support data warehouse and reporting initiatives through data preparation and validation activities. Monitor data processes and report performance or quality concerns to senior team members. Contribute to the implementation of Azure-based data solutions and services. Follow established DevOps, CI/CD, and data governance practices. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to support project delivery. Document processes, workflows, and technical solutions. Continuously develop technical skills and stay informed of emerging data technologies and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field preferred. 0-3 years of experience in data engineering, software development, data analytics, or a related technical field. Basic understanding of database concepts, data structures, and data integration techniques. Familiarity with SQL and relational databases. Experience with Python, PowerShell, or another scripting language. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team environment. Eagerness to learn new technologies and data engineering best practices. Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline development. Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling. Experience with Git or other version control tools.
