This Role This role is based in Tokyo, Japan, leading commissioning across RHAELM's Japan data centre programme.

As Senior Commissioning Manager, you will own the commissioning strategy and execution across RHAELM's data centre projects, ensuring every critical system is tested, verified, and proven fit for live operation before handover. You will lead commissioning through Levels 1-5, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and vendors to deliver Integrated Systems Testing that stands up to the demands of Tier III/IV mission-critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the commissioning plan aligned to Uptime Institute Tier III/IV requirementsOversee commissioning of all critical systems, including HV/LV electrical, cooling, BMS, fire protection, security, and ICTCoordinate Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and verify redundancy and failover across all critical infrastructureLead and manage commissioning agents, vendors, and subcontractors across multiple concurrent packagesReview commissioning scripts, test procedures, and sequences of operation against design intentManage commissioning schedules and budgets, escalating risks to programme or quality earlyOversee handover documentation, as-built records, and training for the operations teamChair commissioning meetings and report progress to senior stakeholders and clients Experience Significant data centre commissioning experience with strong knowledge of Cx Levels 1-5Proven ability to manage commissioning across multi-package, fast-track delivery environmentsStrong understanding of operational risk, redundancy, and maintainability principlesExperience managing senior stakeholders and commissioning consultants/agentsTrack record delivering commissioning on large-scale, mission-critical projectsExperience operating within Japan's construction, engineering, or regulatory market context advantageous Skills Strong technical capability in reviewing drawings, sequences, and commissioning proceduresExcellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skillsHigh commitment to safety, quality, and deadline managementSound judgement under pressure across fast-track, multi-vendor programmesClear, structured communication and reporting Qualifications Degree or engineering apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)Recognised commissioning qualifications (e.g.
