Job Description:
Department Overview
This department is responsible for the real-channel operations that deliver Rakuten Group services-including telecommunications, finance, and e-commerce-to customers, leveraging the Rakuten Mobile store network as a starting point.
The Shop Strategy Group is responsible for everything from selecting potential store locations to negotiating terms for ROI maximization, managing lease agreements, and standardizing store opening processes, driving the sustainable expansion of our store network.

With the expansion of Rakuten Mobile shops, we are seeking talent capable of driving data-based store opening strategies and investment decisions by integrating and analyzing trade area data, competitive information, and existing store performance.
Position Details
- Formulation of store opening strategies based on the integrated analysis of trade area data, competitive information, and existing store performance.
- Visualization of store development progress and profitability, as well as dashboard construction and reporting.
- Improvement of operational processes to reduce lead time and costs through the modeling of store opening data.
- Support for decision-making regarding store openings and closures based on data, in collaboration with other departments.
Work Environment
Shop Strategy Group: 25 members (2 Managers, 2 Assistant Managers, 21 Members)
Mandatory
Qualifications:
- Practical experience in data processing, analysis, issue extraction, and reporting using SQL, BI tools (Tableau, DOMO, etc.), and Excel.
- Experience in formulating and proposing business strategies, sales strategies, or operational improvement measures based on analysis results.
- Experience in driving projects by organizing requirements, managing progress, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- You do not need to meet all the mandatory requirements.
- If you have practical experience using data analysis tools and are eager to tackle problem-solving and operational improvement through analysis, we encourage you to apply.

- Experience in formulating store opening strategies or trade area analysis in retail, food & beverage, or telecommunications carrier industries.
- Experience in leading business investment decisions or operational improvement projects as a strategy consultant or in corporate planning.

- Working Days: Monday - Friday (Weekends and holidays are days off)
- Working Hours: 9:00 - 17:30 (7.5 hours of actual work/day)

- Holiday Work: While we basically ensure two full days off per week, you may be required to work on holidays depending on business circumstances.
