About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Embedded Software Test Engineer specializing in Optical Space Systems to join our Wilmington, MA team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and executing testing solutions for complex space-based imaging payloads. You will lead small teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful development and integration of test software that supports aerospace applications throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, software development, and testing within aerospace environments. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and performance of our space systems, ensuring they meet stringent mission requirements. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. An advanced graduate degree can substitute for some experience, requiring at least 7 years, while candidates without a degree should have at least 13 years of relevant experience. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance is essential. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in test development for aerospace systems, particularly in embedded processing environments. Proficiency in tools such as LabView, COSMOS, MATLAB, and Simulink is required, along with a strong background in integrating and testing embedded systems at both software and hardware levels. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Lead small teams responsible for developing and executing embedded test software to meet customer requirements within scheduled timelines and budgets.Provide technical guidance by refining requirements, developing user stories, and collaborating on system and software designs.Design, develop, and validate test software for space-based imaging payloads and embedded systems, ensuring compliance with mission specifications.Integrate and test embedded flight systems at both software and hardware levels, supporting the entire software lifecycle from development to operational deployment.Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring traceability and validation of system performance.Assist in the setup, configuration, and documentation of hardware and software systems, including loading and troubleshooting software across multiple devices.Handle complex testing scenarios involving automated test infrastructure, ensuring robustness and reliability.Document issues, analyze test results, and implement corrective actions to optimize system performance and reliability.
