Field Engineer (Bilingual – Program Manager Position) Domain: Engineering Services & Industrial AutomationLocation: Minato City, Tokyo, JapanExperience: 6–10 YearsCitizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status: Japanese Native / Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or aboveEmployment Type: Permanent Employee We're Hiring On Behalf Of Our Client: About the OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Field Engineer / Program Manager with a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, field service operations, equipment startup, troubleshooting, and team management.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing field service activities, overseeing onsite startup operations, training and managing Field Service Engineers, and acting as a key bridge between overseas engineering teams and domestic customers in Japan.This role requires a technically strong and customer-focused professional who can communicate effectively in both Japanese and English, work collaboratively with global teams, and travel domestically and internationally for several weeks when required. Key ResponsibilitiesManage field service activities for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.Manage onsite startup operations for semiconductor manufacturing equipment at local customer factories.Act as a bridge between overseas projects, engineering teams, and domestic customers in Japan for semiconductor equipment field services.Manage field service activities during overseas and domestic business trips.Travel domestically and internationally for field service management assignments, including trips lasting several weeks.Train, guide, and manage Field Service Engineers working with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.Manage and coordinate field service engineers and their activities.Understand customer requirements and team requirements and ensure they are effectively addressed.Support troubleshooting activities for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.Use English effectively to bridge communication between engineers, customers, and overseas teams.Facilitate communication and coordination between global engineering teams and Japanese customers.Support the successful execution of equipment startup and field service activities.Ensure effective coordination between technical teams, customers, and other stakeholders.Manage and resolve field service-related issues while maintaining customer satisfaction.Support the overall delivery of field service and startup activities within required schedules and quality standards. Must-Have Requirements5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer and/or startup personnel for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.3+ years of experience managing subordinates or engineering teams.Strong understanding of customer and team-member requirements.Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.Proven experience troubleshooting semiconductor manufacturing equipment.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including assignments lasting several weeks.English language skills with a TOEIC score of 700 or higher.At least 5 years of professional experience using English in a business/work environment.Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to work effectively between Japanese customers and overseas engineering teams. Nice-to-Have RequirementsExperience as a Field Service Manager at an overseas semiconductor equipment manufacturer.Experience working in a cleanroom environment.Familiarity with safety standards and practices in the semiconductor equipment industry.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with global teams and stakeholders.Experience managing field service operations across international locations.Experience coordinating overseas engineering teams and domestic customers. Language RequirementsJapanese:Native Level or JLPT N1 Level.English:TOEIC 700+ preferred/required.Minimum 5 years of professional experience using English in
