About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our Veterans Affairs (VA) department remotely. This full-time position requires a candidate with a strong programming background, capable of designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies for complex software systems. The SDET will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, security, and functionality of information systems, products, and services aligned with organizational standards and end-user requirements. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in automation frameworks, manual testing, and a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software testing and quality assurance, with advanced certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates must have strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python, and demonstrate a history of working on complex software projects. Experience with both manual and automated testing, as well as familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and test automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, and LoadRunner, is essential. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git, Subversion), performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling), and defect management platforms (JIRA, Bugzilla) is also required. Additional desired experience includes working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, understanding of security testing practices, and familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) and medical claims processing. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance are mandatory.
