NOTE* This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the United Kingdom and be legally authorized to work in the UK. Summary As an Associate Technology Designer, you will use your Revit and BIM expertise to develop, coordinate, and deliver technology and security system designs across projects, creating accurate 3D models and coordinated documentation while integrating technology systems into the broader building design. Working with the Technical Design Lead, Project Managers, Consultants, Clients, and Multidisciplinary Engineering Teams, you will support project delivery from concept through completion, developing coordinated Revit models, maintaining BIM standards, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver efficient, high-quality, constructible solutions. You will develop your technical design and consulting capabilities through mentorship from senior designers, project managers, and leadership, gaining experience in project planning, client engagement, design coordination, and industry best practices while taking on increasing project ownership. Technology Design and Engineering covers the planning, design, BIM modelling, integration, and documentation of low-voltage and electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, network infrastructure, duress and emergency alarms, intercommunications, intrusion detection, door monitoring and control, perimeter detection, and other intelligent building technologies. The role requires strong knowledge of Revit-based workflows and BIM coordination, and the ability to translate client and operational requirements into coordinated, robust design solutions. Core Responsibilities Design and coordinate security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, duress alarms, intercoms, perimeter detection, and related low-voltage systems. Develop and maintain detailed Revit models for electronic security and technology systems, ensuring compliance with project BIM standards and client requirements. Produce design documentation, including plans, elevations, details, schedules, and system layouts, using Revit and other design tools. Work with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to integrate technology systems within the overall building design. Participate in client BIM meetings and resolve design clashes through model reviews and multidisciplinary collaboration. Assist in preparing technical specifications, design reports, equipment schedules, and construction documentation. Support project managers and technical leads in delivering projects on schedule and within budget, including development of key deliverables and milestones as directed. Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify technology system requirements and integration opportunities. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and client guidelines. Build technical expertise in Revit, BIM workflows, security technologies, and design consulting practices. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams. Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, workflow, and project delivery through effective use of BIM technologies. Three (3) plus years of advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM modelling. Proficient in Autodesk Forma/Construction Cloud (ACC) for CDE management and model federation. Bluebeam mark-up competency. Experience with, and understanding of, traditional RIBA design stages 2-4, including concept design, schematic design, design development, and tender.
