About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer - Technical Lead to join our team in Northampton, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software solutions for Navy imaging products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of hardware and software components, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded Linux environments, proficiency in C/C++, and experience with video processing and interfaces. You will play a key role in driving technical excellence, fostering collaborative teamwork, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Candidates with a graduate degree and at least two years of experience or those with eight or more years of experience without a degree are also encouraged to apply. Essential qualifications include: Over four years of experience in embedded software development using C/C++.Comprehensive understanding of embedded Linux, including kernel and driver development.Knowledge of video processing techniques, including image enhancement, video stitching, storage, and playback.Familiarity with video interfaces and camera control protocols such as GenICam, GigE Vision, and Camera Link.Experience with software development tools like compilers, debuggers, and version control systems (e.g., Git).Understanding of hardware interfaces and communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN. Preferred additional skills include leadership experience, familiarity with real-time operating systems, Agile methodologies, signal processing, scripting languages like Python, and CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and testing of user interface software within a Linux environment using QT and C/C++.Develop and maintain embedded Linux-based systems, including kernel and driver components.Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.Create and maintain comprehensive software documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and testing procedures.Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing timely resolutions to maintain product quality and reliability.Optimize software performance and memory utilization to meet stringent product requirements.Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to high-quality coding standards and best practices.Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to continually enhance software develop
