About The Role Boeing is seeking talented Flight Simulation Software Engineers at various levels—Associate, Experienced, and Senior—to join the Flight Simulation Labs team based in Berkeley, MO. This role primarily supports Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business operations, focusing on developing and maintaining sophisticated simulation infrastructure for flight training, testing, and integration. The successful candidates will contribute to designing, developing, and demonstrating avionics solutions and simulation tools that enhance platform capabilities and battlefield dominance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that impact national security and aerospace technology. The role involves collaboration within agile teams, supporting software development for simulation environments, and creating tools to model aircraft capabilities and subsystem interactions, ensuring the simulation systems accurately reflect real-world scenarios. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with relevant experience in software development. U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-start. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada, with a minimum of two years of experience as a Software Engineer. For more senior roles, candidates with 5 to 9+ years of related experience, active security clearances, and industry-specific knowledge are preferred. Experience working within defense or avionics sectors, familiarity with networking principles, and Agile methodologies are highly desirable. Strong communication and coordination skills, along with the ability to multitask effectively in a collaborative environment, are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and software designs for simulation systems.Develop and integrate software components into comprehensive simulation environments supporting flight testing and training activities.Create core simulation infrastructure to support ongoing and future flight simulation programs.Develop tools to simulate, monitor, and capture messages between subsystems within lab environments, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.Model aircraft capabilities and run constructive scenarios to validate simulation fidelity and performance.Support the development of testing environments and assist Mission Systems engineers in conducting simulations and evaluations.Participate actively in agile teams, contributing to sprints, planning, and continuous improvement processes.Execute research and development projects, documenting findings and ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance simulation tools and infrastructure.
