About The Role The Boeing Precision Engagement Systems organization in St. Charles, MO, situated within the St. Louis metro area, is seeking talented and motivated Real-Time Software Engineers at both Associate and Experienced levels. In this role, you will be integral to developing, integrating, testing, and delivering complex software solutions for defense applications. Your work will primarily support Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering, focusing on the development of operational flight programming and embedded software for precision-guided weapons deployed globally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to systems that enhance national security and support allied nations. Qualifications Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in real-time embedded software development. Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. secret security clearance. Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Ada is essential, along with a solid understanding of object-oriented principles. Preferred qualifications include additional years of experience, active U.S. secret clearance, and familiarity with Agile development practices, version control systems like Git, and scripting languages such as Python or C#. Candidates with a strong track record in developing safety-critical software and working in multidisciplinary teams will stand out. Responsibilities Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design and implement Operational Flight Program (OFP) software solutions for defense systems.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an Agile environment, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.Develop embedded real-time software using Ada, C, and C++ to meet mission-critical requirements.Conduct software testing and assist system-level testing to ensure functionality and performance standards are met.Analyze and troubleshoot software defects, providing timely resolutions to maintain system integrity.Develop leadership skills through mentorship, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.Engage directly with U.S. Air Force and Navy customers to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including DevOps practices, automation, and configuration management.
