About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Resiliency Engineer to join Vanguard's Resiliency Engineering Team. This pivotal role involves designing and developing enterprise-scale software solutions that elevate Vanguard's ability to anticipate, prevent, and respond to operational disruptions. The ideal candidate will contribute to expanding our synthetic monitoring capabilities, building enterprise resiliency intelligence services, and developing cloud-native APIs and automation platforms. As a key member of this team, you will work at the forefront of modern resiliency strategies, including AI-powered solutions, automated risk identification, and next-generation operational experiences. Your work will directly impact the reliability and recoverability of Vanguard’s critical business services, ensuring seamless experiences for our clients and stakeholders. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in software engineering or related fields. An undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in cloud-native development, distributed systems, and automation solutions. Experience with API development, event-driven architectures, and observability concepts is highly desirable. A passion for innovation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential qualities for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable cloud-native applications, APIs, and automation workflows that enhance enterprise resiliency.Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions that align with Vanguard’s strategic objectives.Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product owners, and cross-functional teams to address complex resiliency challenges and develop innovative solutions.Create reusable frameworks and automation tools that improve resiliency outcomes and operational efficiency.Develop AI-enabled capabilities, including agents and skills, to automate recurring resiliency tasks and reduce operational toil.Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and support testing and production deployment activities.Contribute to initiatives focused on observability, performance, and operational excellence to ensure high system reliability.Participate in special projects and adapt to evolving organizational needs, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
