About The Role The BI Report Developer role at Southern Scripts is a vital position responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive reports that support internal decision-making and external client reporting. This remote position requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI to translate complex data into meaningful insights. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and the BI team to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reports that align with organizational goals and compliance standards, including HIPAA regulations. The role offers the flexibility of remote work while demanding a high level of professionalism, technical proficiency, and communication skills to effectively serve our diverse client base and internal teams. Qualifications Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by at least three years of experience in SQL query development and SSRS report creation. Proficiency in SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher, along with deep knowledge of relational databases and TSQL, is essential. Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards, as well as familiarity with data warehouse design principles such as Kimball/Star-Schema, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present insights clearly. Candidates with experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or PBM reporting will have a distinct advantage. A solid understanding of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, along with knowledge of MDX, DAX, and M, will be considered a plus. Responsibilities Create, troubleshoot, and maintain SSRS reports and their associated data sets to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize Power BI reports based on validated data models, ensuring they meet business requirements.Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and the BI team to gather requirements, define specifications, and deliver reports aligned with organizational objectives.Validate report functionality through rigorous testing with internal staff and end-users to ensure usability and correctness.Partner with internal QA teams during acceptance testing and data validation processes to uphold data integrity and report quality.Follow standardized development procedures, including adhering to design specifications, conducting unit testing, and managing the BI development lifecycle.Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by protecting Protected Health Information (PHI) and reporting any violations to the appropriate authorities.Participate in mandatory HIPAA training and demonstrate ongoing competency in privacy and security standards.Maintain flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, additional duties, or new responsibilities as assigned by management.
